Tennis-A-Thon Fundraiser Results
Wednesday, May 2, 2012 • Posted May 2, 2012

The Mason Tennis Association Tennis-A-Thon fundraiser was a smashing success in raising over $8500. The money will be used to improve our tennis center.

Many of our tennis playing youth, ages 4 to 18, played tennis for 1 and 1/2 hours on March 25th and acquired sponsors who donated money to them for playing.

The top fundraiser for this event was Lexie Bingham, a 6th grader, who raised $1500. Wow! 2nd place fundraiser was senior, Matt Banner, who raised $300. Super! Third place fundraiser was 7th grader, Slade Townsend, who brought in $295. Yippee! Coming in a close 4th place with $294 was 5th grader, Corbin Norris. Awesome! Lexie and Matt have been two of our top fundraisers for several years. What a great job they have done!

The M.T.A. would like to thank our underwriters for the 2012 Tennis-A-Thon. Donating at the $500 gold level was the Mason National Bank and Dipsticks/Yokohama. Donating at the $250 silver level was The Commercial Bank. First State Bank and Citizens/Hemphill Insurance donated at the $100 bronze level. Without their generous help, our Tennis-A-Thon would not have been such a success.

Special thanks go to Dr Pepper Bottling and Hill Country Trophies who donated prizes for the court winners on the day of the event. Tennis Barn (Paul Smith) donated our top fundraiser prize which was a tennis racquet.

The M.T.A. would like to thank all of those tennis players and parents who worked so diligently in obtaining sponsors and all of you who were so gracious to donate to them. The support you showed was just wonderful.
