We would like to announce the formation of this new organization in Mason. Second Chance – Mason Animal Rescue believes that every single animal has value and our group is dedicated to providing shelter and placement service for homeless and unwanted animals in Mason County.

We are working closely with the City of Mason and their Animal Control Officers to assist in the daily care of dogs and cats that are at the city facility as well as finding suitable homes for them. Second Chance would like to extend our sincere thanks to the following city officials for supporting our group: Brent Hinckley, John Palacio, Pete Munoz, Audrey Morquecho and Leanna Caveness.

Second Chance needs volunteers in many areas. Fundraising, Advertising, Community Relations, Public Speaking, and, of course, assisting with the dogs and cats. If you would like to volunteer in any way, please call Jennie Denton at 347-7443 or Carol Kothmann at 347-5598.

We will also be having a meeting on Thursday, May 10th at 6 P.M. at the offices of Strategic Oilfield Services between Hill Country Telephone and Willow Creek Café. Please join us.

Donations of collars, leashes, toys, dog and cat food and kitty litter would be greatly appreciated. Any of these items may be dropped off at the Chamber of Commerce Office, 108 Ft. McKavitt.

Below you will see a picture of our PET OF THE WEEK. His name is Baxter. He is 3 to 4 months old, has had his parvo and distemper vaccination and has been wormed. Baxter is a happy, playful puppy and would make any one a dynamite pet. If you are interested in giving Baxter his forever home, please call Carol Kothmann at 347-5598.
