The Memorial Day ceremony will be on Monday, May 28th at 11 a.m. at the Veterans Memorial. Please make plans to attend. We are still looking for members for the honor guard. Also help with the flags on veterans graves is needed. We will start placing them on the 21st so that we can be completed with the 750 by the weekend.

Post news.

I attended the district 13 convention in Lacoste on Sunday, May the 6th. At that time we elected and installed district officers for the coming year. Steve Lopez was elected as the District 13 Commander for the coming year. Steve has held several district offices and post offices for many years. He should do a very fine job.

A motion was made that the district donate $1000.00 a year to the Kerrville Veterans Hospital Auxillary. These people plan parties and prepare meals for the patients of the hospital and have reported that their last program broke the bank. The motion was passed with an overwhelming majority vote. Checks were passed out to post commanders for students receiving cash awards from the district. The quartermaster is trying to clear the books as some have been there for four years waiting to be picked up.
