The Mason Lions club met Tuesday, May 15th, for its regular weekly luncheon meeting. There were 34 members and two visitors in attendance. Among the visitors was incoming District Governor Tom Blase and his wife, Sherrilyn.

Lion John Palacio was responsible for the program and he talked about his duties as the City of Mason Administrator.

John also spoke about some of the things that the City had been working on and some things that they had planned for the future. John talked about the recycle center and how the people of Mason had made it such a success. He said that we recycle about 450 tons of material a year. That sure helps keep the landfill operating.

Lion Marty Bentson, from Brady, joined the club.

The club’s next meeting will be held next Tuesday, May 22nd, at noon at Zavala’s. The program chairman will be Dane Phillips.

The Mason Lion’s Club has an ongoing program to recycle used eyeglasses to people who need them. Used eyeglasses may be given to any Lion or left in collection boxes at any of the local banks. Also please contact any Mason Lion if you know of anyone in our community unable to afford appropriate eye care.
