Community Foundation Issues PTO Grant
Wednesday, May 23, 2012 • Posted May 23, 2012

The Mason Community Foundation (MCF) was established several years ago to help meet needs in Mason County, and support the citizens of our community. The MCF recently awarded grants to several local organizations. One of these grants went to the Mason Parent-Teacher Organization. This money will fund a canopy to be placed over new playground equipment at school. The canopy will provide protection from the sun and other elements for the children, and add to the life of the equipment. Shown in the photo are Jennifer Row, President of the PTO, Tammy Parrish Elementary Principal, and MCF Board members D’Ann Stahl, Suzanne Bjork and Brent Hinckley.

Grant Money is provided by sales at the Community Thrift Store, located just off the square. Look for the sign with the big red heart. If you haven’t stopped by the Thrift Store in a while, we invite you to come by and have a look around. Several changes have been made to improve the store, and we have added more racks - that means more clothes!! The layout of the store has been changed to help with flow and organization. The Thrift Store workers and volunteers have been working hard to process donations quickly, so selection of merchandise changes daily. And speaking of donations, we are happy to receive donations during store hours from 9:30-4:30 M-F, and Sat from 10-4. All profits made from sales goes back into our community. The board members of the Mason Community Foundation are pleased to be a part of this business that benefits so many in our community.
