Commercial Bank Donates to Summer Reading
Wednesday, May 30, 2012 • Posted May 30, 2012

Michael Cope (center), Executive Vice President of the Commercial Bank, presents a donation to Patti Grote, Director/Librarian (right), and Nancy Scholibo, Assistant Librarian (left) of the Mason County M. Beven Eckert Memorial Library. The donation will enable the library to present two Simple Touch Nooks with GlowLight to the two top readers in the Book Hounds Summer Reading Club. In the Book Hounds program, students from Grades 1-12 will be challenged to read at least twenty books this summer. The top reader of the Grades 1-5 group and the top reader of the Grades 6-12 group will each receive a Nook. Second highest readers will win iPods, and third highest readers will win cash prizes. Any other students who meet the challenge will be entered into drawings for two more Nooks. In coming weeks, check the paper for details on Read to a Dog and the Read-to-Swim Pals summer programs and their supporting donors. Students may sign up for these programs at the library beginning on Monday, June 4.
