The Odeon Preservation Association, Inc. (OPA) offers the following response to a letter to the editor from Lenore Newsom published in the May 23rd edition.
1. The OPA wishes the Newsoms no personal ill will and sincerely hopes that their business (along with all local businesses) will be successful.
2. The OPA has been seeking legal remedies in district court to settle a legitimate dispute over an easement issue with Lenore and Tommy Newsom. A summary judgment (Cause No. 115307) was issued in favor of the OPA on 4/12/12 and the defendants have the right to appeal same.
3. The OPA has been represented pro bono (for free) in this matter, so no donated funds have been spent resolving this matter.
4. Anyone interested in further details is welcome to contact Spider Johnson, OPA President, at 347.6360, or Thom Canfield, OPA Treasurer, at 347.4389.
It has been our privilege since 1994 to serve this community by preserving the Odeon in order to provide movies and other cultural enrichment opportunities. We hope to see you soon at the Odeon.
