The Mason Lions club met Tuesday, May 29th, for its regular weekly luncheon meeting. There were 30 members and two visitors in attendance.

Lion Charles Pluenneke was responsible for the program and introduced Carol Sattler who spoke about her family's experience in Iran leading up to the overthrowing of the Shah, and the events that followed.Carol told of some very interesting situations that her husband, Harold, who was in the Army at the time, got into, and the precautions he had to take, along with she and their two sons had to use. Carol said there were some tense and nervous times; but, said that her faith kept her from being really afraid.

The club’s next meeting will be held next Tuesday, June 5th, at noon at Zavala’s. The program will be the monthly business meeting.

The Mason Lion’s Club has an ongoing program to recycle used eyeglasses to people who need them. Used eyeglasses may be given to any Lion or left in collection boxes at any of the local banks. Also please contact any Mason Lion if you know of anyone in our community unable to afford appropriate eye care.
