The Llano Pioneers Chapter of the Daughters of the Republic of Texas received the honor of “Six Star Chapter” at the 121st Annual Convention held May 17-19, 2012 at the Doubletree Hotel in Austin. To receive the award criteria must be met with projects, volunteer hours, programs, observance of Texas Honor Days and distribution of material on the history of Texas prior to 1900 to schools and organizations. The Chapter also assisted with the Memorial Service on Thursday honoring 147 Daughters that had passed away during the year. Attending were Patty Pfister, Chapter Vice President; Arlene Garey, Chapter President and Patricia Wagner, Chapter Chaplain. Also attending but not pictured were Mitzie Powell and Leslie Mitchell.

The Llano Pioneers Chapter meets the second Monday of each month at 10a.m. at the Llano County Library during the months of September-May. If anyone is interested in becoming a member of the DRT please contact Patty Pfister 325-247-5024 or Arlene Garey 830-598-7700.
