Robert Priess, Jr.

Robert Preiss, Jr. of Hobbs, New Mexico, passed away on May 24, 2012, at Lea Regional Medical Center at the age of 86.

He was born April 6, 1926, in Mason, Texas, to Robert and Dora Umfrid Priess. He married Lizzie Marie Henrich January 1, 1944, in St. Paul Lutheran Church in Mason, Texas. They were married 66 years until Marie's death on February 11, 2010.

Robert was a founding member of Christian Center Church in Hobbs and was involved in church all his life. He was a loving Christian man and always concerned about all his family members. He was retired from the Safeway and Furr's supermarkets in Hobbs.

Survivors include two granddaughters, Kim Lara of Austin and Kay Willett of Hobbs; a grandson, Kevin Ousley of Hobbs; five great-grandchildren, Jasmine Lara of Austin, Jacqueline Lara of Hobbs, Collin Gross of West Virginia, Colton Gross of Hobbs, and Kastin Ousley of Hobbs; and three great-great-grandchildren. Other survivors are his sister-in-law, Frances Priess, and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, two children, Patricia and Donnie, and seven siblings: Ella, Ernest, Bertha Scheerbaum, Cora Leifeste, Walter, Roy, and Perry.

Funeral services for Robert were held May 29, 2012, at Christian Center Church, officiated by Pastor Jotty Kinney, with burial at Prairie Haven Memorial Park in Hobbs, New Mexico.
