The Mason Lions club met Tuesday, July 3rd, for its monthly business meeting. There were 33 members and three visitors in attendance. Among the visitors was District Governor Tom Blase and his wife, Sharylan.

"New Boss" Lion Pat Reardon was responsible for the program and Secretary/Treasurer, Gene Gammill, read the minutes and gave the financial report.

District Governor Blase came forward and installed all the new officers and directors for the upcoming 2012-2013 year. He issued a challenge to each to make this a better year than the last, which was an exceptional one. District Governor Blase also took approximately 100 pairs of used eyeglasses to deliver to the Eyeglass Recycle Center in Midland. The meeting adjourned at about 1:05 p.m.

The club’s next meeting will be held next Tuesday, July 10th, at noon at Willow Creek Cafe. The program chairman will be Ted Smith.

The Mason Lion’s Club has an ongoing program to recycle used eyeglasses to people who need them. Used eyeglasses may be given to any Lion or left in collection boxes at any of the local banks. Also please contact any Mason Lion if you know of anyone in our community unable to afford appropriate eye care.
