Second Chance – Mason Animal Rescue will have a booth at Roundup and we would love to have everyone come by and say hello. We will have animals that are currently available for adoption as well as items for sale. Please stop by to find out how you can help animals here in our own community.

We will also have information on our foster family program. Second Chance currently has a great need for foster families. Fostering a cat or dog removes the animal from the shelter facility to a stable home environment. The animals have a chance to be socialized and evaluated before being adopted. Someday Second Chance hopes to have their own facility, but until then we have to rely on members of the community to help us give these dogs and cats caring temporary homes. If anyone is interested in filling out our Foster Application please contact Casey Clevenger at 347-4521.

Second Chance continues to need donations of cat and dog food, puppy chow, gently used toys, leashes, pet beds, old towels, and other similar items. These items can be dropped off at the Chamber of Commerce Office on the square.

We have two pets of the week this week. The two ladies, Sophie and Dixie, came in together. The first, Sophie, is a light colored female Chihuahua. The second, Dixie, is a black Chihuahua mix. Both are about 12 years old but are still very friendly and playful. Sophie and Dixie get along great with each other as well as the other dogs at the shelter. Sophie and Dixie and the other dogs at the shelter are available for adoption for a fee of $25.00. This fee covers a current parvo/distemper vaccination, a heart worm test, rabies vaccination, a reduced rate on spaying and a 50% discount from Reigning Cats and Dogs for an obedience class.

If you are interested in adopting or fostering Sophie or Dixie, please contact Casey Clevenger at 347-4521. If these ladies are not what you are looking for we also have several other dogs. There are also a number of cats and kittens, including the ones pictured, available for adoption. Please contact Casey to find out about them.
