Katherine Koock enjoyed participating in an 80 mile backpacking trip in the wilderness of the southern Appalachian Trial. She was joined with other teens from the Girl Scouts of Central Texas in the backpacking interest group from June 14 to June 27, 2008. The girls hiked the portion of the trail in North Carolina and had a wonderful time enjoying the scenery and meeting people along the way.

Girl Scouting is a great activity for girls to be involved in. They learn life skills develop leadership capabilities while building strong friendships. Girls from Kindergarten through 12th grade may participate in Girl Scouts. Building girls of courage, confidence and character, who make the world a better place!
