Irene Lopez Singleton

Irene Lopez Singleton, 55, passed away Saturday, July 7, 2012, at 1:15 a.m. after a long battle with ovarian cancer.

Irene was born on June 4, 1957, in Brownwood, to Saul and Doris Lopez. Irene was a loving mother and devoted grandmother. She was strong willed and courageous during her five-year battle with cancer.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Doris Pena. Survivors: Father, Saul Lopez; daughters, Regina Garcia and April Gomez; sons, Ramon Gomez and Gabriel Herrera; brothers, Carlos Lopez and Rudy Lopez; sisters, Brenda Lopez and Sandy Sutherland; and 11 grandchildren. She is also survived by her aunt and uncle, Mike and Carolina Morquecho, of Mason.

Memorial service was held at 7 p.m. Thursday at St. Michael the Archangel Church, 2910 Corn Valley Road, Grand Prairie, 75052.

Memorials: The family is asking for donations to the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition instead of flower arrangements in Irene’s memory.
