July has been a busy month for Mason and the Bed and Breakfast businesses. July 4th and Round-up activities started the month, with many B & B’s, Cottages, and Guest Houses enjoying the many visitors who came to town.
Film makers associated with the documentary, “We Were Soldiers”, that recently premiered at the Odeon, were guests at Patsy and Gene Zesch’s, The Gamel House. Sheila and Don Durflinger,The Apple Cottage, hosted the “Riders on the Orphan Train” presenters who appeared at the Mason County Library’s Brown-Bag Lunch recently. Beth Reardon, A Storybook Cottage, hosted book club members from Houston who had such a good time visiting local stores, restaurants, art galleries, and of course, the Wine Bar.
The tennis tournament brought many participants and their families to town, and this year, many stayed at the B & B’s, which was a new trend for some of our group’s members.
A few members took a field trip to The Herb Farm in Fredericksburg this month. We toured the farm, one of the twelve cute cottages on the property, and had lunch at the restaurant there. It was very enjoyable, and we decided to go again when more members could join us.
The Mason Bed and Breakfast Association promotes quality hospitality in the Mason, Texas area. For more information about the group, to get on our e-mail list, or to have information about your B & B reported in an article, contact Beth Reardon at 325-347-0809.
We won’t meet in August, but will meet again in September.
