The Mason Lions club met Tuesday, July 17th, for its regular weekly luncheon meeting. There were 34 members and two visitors in attendance.

Lion Charles Reichenau was responsible for the program and introduced Margaret Persky who spoke about the "Hofmann Girls," the Otto & Delia Hofmann girls, not the Leo Hofmann girls.

The girls were Delia Hofmann Moneyhon, Mary Maude Hofmann McMillan, Jane Hofmann Hoerster and Gloria Hofmann Lehmberg.

Margaret told interesting facts about the family, and then started discussing each girl in order; but, ran out of time after telling about Delia and Mary Maude, who was her mother. We hope to get Margaret back to finish the program at a later date.

The club’s next meeting will be held next Tuesday, July 24th, at noon at Willow Creek Cafe. The program chairman will be Pat Reardon, and the program will be the District Gover, Tom Blayse.

The Mason Lion’s Club has an ongoing program to recycle used eyeglasses to people who need them. Used eyeglasses may be given to any Lion or left in collection boxes at any of the local banks. Also please contact any Mason Lion if you know of anyone in our community unable to afford appropriate eye care.
