Last week was “Camp MeMaw” week. I had three of five grandkids with me for a whole week. We spent all week up at the Rock House, with no television! There was no Sponge Bob and no Bugs Bunny! We did watch some movies in the heat of the day and at night. But, mostly it was just hunting with their pellet and BB guns. Yep, we chased a few BB’s across the floor and what fell behind the washing machine will just have to stay there.
Cooper, Cailey and Bryson seemed to have a good time. Had three weenie dogs and Natcha dog to play with. To add country life to the week, the boys' dog came into heat and this wasn’t planned. So hopefully, Dixie will have a bunch of cute little Earl’s in about sixty-five days.
We tried to work on manners and SHUTTING THE DOOR. The words "May I" and "Can I" were tough ones. And, shutting the door wasn’t accepted well. But, the hunting yielded several Jack Rabbits and a few birds. But, NO SNAKES! Thank Heavens.
O’Papa, stayed out of the way and lost from sight most of the time. Kids under the age of 45 are not in his life style. However, Cousin Louie brought in a baby coon, that still had it’s eyes closed and Grandpa Teddy Ray is trying to raise it with the help of his grandsons! See, I just knew Cousin Louie would amount to something!
However, all good things must come to an end and Saturday it was just in time, as Cailey Mason was just about at her wit’s end with her boy cousins. But, by next Sunday when we four leave for Florida to see Uncle Brody and Aunt Jessica and Mickey Mouse, they’ll be best of buddies again.
P.S. I need a week to rest before we go to Florida—whereever kids get their batteries, I sure wish they’d tell me!!!
