First Friday Art Walk
Name the Elephant Contest

Mason’s First Friday Art Walk is this Friday, August 4th. Galleries, Retail stores, artists, studios, wineries, are preparing to host a exciting fun filled evening. The time of the ArtWalk is 6:30-8:30. Check out the various locations for highlighted artists, refreshments, live music, and good conversation. Begin at the Alley entrance on Spring Street for the Name the Elephant Mural Contest!

Block 1: (the unnamed Alley)

LAMPLIGHT DESIGNS: Vote on one of the pre-selected names for the Elephant, while enjoying the artwork on the fence by Sheryl Ranne and Deborah Hofmann.

MASON UNDERGROUND: (formerly known as CocoaLuna) for some refreshing sangria and check out our upcoming new event/party space.

RENEE WALKER: Will be hosting a featured artist.

GOOD TO GO: Live Music and refreshments.

RED DOOR ANTIQUES: A “Preview Opening” of art, maps, antiques, and decorative accessories. Entrance this month will be from the front entrance (not the alley). Come check out our items as we continue to prepare for our grand opening…coming soon.

CINDY ZEMIS-MORRIS STUDIO: Featuring the large scale abstract acrylic paintings by Eric Austin of Menard.

Block 2: ….walk south on Broad Street toward the Square, turn left on the sidewalk…

SQUARE MUSEUM: Showcasing the history of Mason County.

GEMS OF THE HILL COUNTRY: Come see the faceting machine and gem carving station upstairs in the goldsmith shop.

KYLE MARTIN STUDIO: Studio closed August…see his work at Sandstone Wine Bar & Gallery.

Block 3:

ARTISAN GALLERY: Featured artist is Sue Kaan. This very creative artist, makes drawing and painting look so easy. Wine and refreshments.

MASON GALLERY: Featuring new work of Sabene Zimmer. Enjoy light refreshments of wine and cheese.

THE SHOOTING STAR: Ongoing changing displays of a variety of local artists.

THE PETAL PATCH: Proud supporter of local artists…crosses, jewelry, crochet art, and silk flower arrangements.

SANDSTONE WINE BAR & GALLERY: Enjoy the rest of the evening while sipping wine from Mason grapes. Walk around the 2 new steel iconic sculptures and “The Prophecy” bronze of renowned southwest artist Bill Worrell. Inside the gallery you will find work from Kyle Martin, Spider Johnson, Bill Worrell, Lori Hunt, Kendall Raban, Karen Mitchell, Lynda Haupert and Matt Hey.

The Mason ART WALK is a gift to the community and its visitors. Gather your friends, bring a attitude of fun, and come hear live music, enjoy the refreshments, meet the artists, and celebrate the ARTS IN MASON!
