Read-to-Swim Program Makes a Big Splash
Wednesday, August 1, 2012 • Posted August 1, 2012

Thanks to the generosity of the Mason National Bank and the help of adult volunteers, the Mason Co. M. Beven Eckert Memorial Library was able to continue the Read-to-Swim program. A total of 478 passes were issued during the eight-week program. The children read for thirty minutes to earn a free swim pass or ice cream from the Dairy Queen. Each time a child came to read, his or her name was also put into the drawing. Our winners were Lauren Olson for the digital camera; Vanessa Rodriguez for the $25 cash prize; and Jacie Smedley for the movie tickets plus $10 for the concession.
