Fifteen local men are “sons” of st. Paul Lutheran and will be recognized as the congregation hosts another 140th anniversary celebration on Sunday, August 12th during the 10:45 a.m. worship service. One of the “sons,” Rev. Casey Zesch of Bethany Lutheran, Fredericksburg, will preach. The public is invited. A special offering will be received for the Lutheran Seminary Program in Austin.

After worship there is a covered-dish meal. Please phone the church office if you plan to attend, 347-5582. A brief slide presentation of the “sons” will follow.

Ordained descendants of George and Georgine Maier Probst include Hugo Probst, Leo Simon (his mother was Emma Probst), and Walter C. Other pastors are: Kurt Hartmann, Wilbert Doerr, Wilburn (Mackie) Kensing, Ronald Birk, Charles Eckert, and Casey Zesch. Other men who grew up at St. Paul Lutheran, but were ordained elsewhere are: Jon Bielfeldt and Scott Hofmann who were trained in the Austin Seminary Program.

Pictures, memorabilia, and histories of the congregation are on display.
