The Mason Lions club met Tuesday, August 7th, for its monthly business meeting. There were 34 members and six visitors in attendance.

"Boss" Lion Pat Reardon was responsible for the program and Secretary/Treasurer Gene Gammill read the minutes and gave the financial report.

Vice-District Governor and Zone Chairman, John Gammill, gave a report on the state convention held in Kerrville over the weekend. Lion John's wife, Angela, joined the club and was installed there by the International President. Lion Tim Walker was installed by Gaylon Thorn and his sponsor, Kendal Hemphill, put the membership pin on his lapel.

The Lions Club will hold a Hamburger Lunch on August 31st. Mark your calendar for this date!

The club’s next meeting will be held next Tuesday, August 14th, at noon at Willow Creek Cafe. The program chairman will be Gaylon Thorn.

The Mason Lion’s Club has an ongoing program to recycle used eyeglasses to people who need them. Used eyeglasses may be given to any Lion or left in collection boxes at any of the local banks. Also please contact any Mason Lion if you know of anyone in our community unable to afford appropriate eye care.
