Judith Mikeska

Judith Held Mikeska, age 75 of Kerrville, passed away Tuesday, August 14, 2012, in a local hospital. She was born July 6, 1937, in Sioux City, IA to Elmore and Lucille Douglas.

She was a member of Resurrection Lutheran Church in Fredericksburg, TX. Her ministry in the church was to make sure everyone received a birthday and anniversary card. She was also a member of Republican Women and Rim Rock Ladies Group.

She dearly loved her children and grandchildren. She also loved animals and listening to music. She enjoyed visiting and eating at her favorite restaurants. Everyone that met Judy loved her.

Survivors include husband, Billy of Kerrville; daughter, Rachel Schuh and husband, J of Highland Village, TX; step daughters, Adotia Jean Rode of Castell, TX and Leslie Bunting and husband, Tim of Minden, NV; step sons, Mitch Mikeska and wife, Sherry of Kerrville, Wayne Mikeska and wife, Glenda of Kerrville, Bill Dudley Mikeska and wife, Camille of New Braunfels and Scott Logan Mikeska and wife, Clair of San Angelo; brothers, Rick Douglas of Omaha, NE and Toby Douglas of Sioux City, IA; 16 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

Visitation was held Sunday, August 19, 2012, 4-6 PM at Grimes Funeral Chapels.

Services were held Monday, August 20, 2012, 9:30 AM at Resurrection Lutheran Church in Fredericksburg, officiated by Pastor Willis McCall. Graveside services followed at 1:30 PM at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the building fund at Resurrection Lutheran Church.
