Last week was one humid week, but with humidity, there’s a good possibility of rain somewhere close by! We were blessed last week with a little shower, and I hope you had one also. It might be true to say, “ it rains on the just, as well as the unjust”, so if you didn’t get any rain, it’s not your fault, but maybe you might want to play it safe and invite your neighbor to church!

The new Bible Study, “Perfect Love of God and Neighbor” starts Wednesday Aug, 22nd in the Fellowship Hall of Trinity UMC in Castell starting at 10:30am. This will be a 6 week Bible Study which will highlight the beginnings of our Wesleyan views. Everyone is invited. Mark your calendar for our annual Church Conference with our District Superintendent, Reverend Larry Altman, on Sunday, September 30th, after worship. The Church Conference for both Art and Trinity will be held at the Fellowship Hall of Trinity UMC in Castell.

Happy Birthday to Elliot Bibb on the 23rd, Brandy Loeffler Kothmann on the 24th, Greg Jordan and Teresa Koock on the 27th! May you each have a wonderful and safe birthday! Congratulations to Sam and Maribelle Hoerster on their 50th Wedding Anniversary! Congratulations are in order also for John and Susan Ceynowa as they celebrate their 43rd anniversary on the 23rd!

Please continue prayers for our homebound, nursing home members and friends, and our servicemen and women. Please check Pastor Cliff’s e-mails for daily prayer concerns and blessings.

A huge “thank you” is in order for all who helped in moving the Mason Food Bank last week. Some folks started the prep work several days before the move on Saturday and the outpour of help on Saturday was tremendous. Trucks pulled in and food was loaded, taken to the new location and unloaded. Then trucks with trailers pulled up and the freezers and shelves were loaded and moved. The freezers were put in place and refilled, shelves reassembled and restocked, all in less than 4 hours! Amazing! Thanks so much to all who helped make it possible and may Mason County be blessed as you have blessed others. Please remember, it is the selfless acts of service and the Ministerial Alliance who make the Mason Food Bank possible. Pastor Cliff has reminded us that “we are placed here for others, to feed the body, soul and mind.” On behalf of the efforts of all the volunteers and the Ministerial Alliance, all food bank recipients are invited and encouraged to visit the church of your choice if you are able. It can be amazing to learn what our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ can do for our lives, if we just let Him in.

We had our annual “Blessing of the Backpacks and the Children” service last Sunday. We hope that all children will have a safe and wonderful school year! GO Little PUNCHERS and Big PUNCHERS! The children provided an outstanding program highlighting the many lessons they learned during this summer’s Vacation Bible School, “The Amazing Desert Journey.” Their program was “Journey with Jesus”, and what an exciting journey it was! The program was narrated by our special guest Ann Mahnken with the help of the children and one of the special caravan camels (puppeteered by Vondell Jordan). The children performed two of their Desert Travel Tunes; The Lord’s Prayer and The Amazing Desert Journey Song. We were taken on their journey day by day through the exciting Power Point presentation produced by Traci Jordan.

Jesus said: “Whoever welcomes one such child in My name welcomes Me, and whoever welcomes Me, welcomes not Me but the One who sent Me.” (Mark 9:37) Peace to all
