ACE After School Program Resumes August 29th
Wednesday, August 22, 2012 • Posted August 22, 2012

We had a great Summer ACE Program! We focused on science activities including hydroponics, pollination, dissections, aquatic biology and solar energy. We are now looking forward to our Fall ACE program which will begin on Wednesday, August 29th.

The ACE program is a fun and enriching afterschool program for K-8th grade students. We meet immediately after school Monday through Thursday (at 3:15 for K-4th and at 3:30 for 5th -8th) and the program ends at 5:45. A healthy snack is served each day and transportation home is provided for most students. Students will complete their homework and then will have the opportunity to choose several enrichment opportunities such as art, guitar, wii dance, fitness and sports, wacky science experiments, local history, fantasy baseball, and much more. This year we are expanding our program to include BEFORE school homework assistance, access to the Computer Labs and Library, and Gym and Fitness Hour. Students can come to the library, gym, and computer lab from 6:55 to 7:55 on Monday through Thursday to receive additional help with homework, have supervised computer time or reading time, or participate in an organized gym activity. Enrollment forms are available in the elementary/junior high school office. If you have questions, please contact Cindy Powell or Jane Vargas at 347-1122, ext 240.
