The 19th letter of the English alphabet.

From the Greek sigma.

A borrowing from the Phoenicians.

I wonder if they want it back.”Pardon me, but that S belongs to us.

And we’re tired of lithping.”

But sigma is the name of the 18th letter of the Greek alphabet.

Not 19th.

According to trusty Webster.

Makes your head Spin.

S.

September.

Around the Square.

The “S” word.

A game to play when you’re feeling Silly.

Or Smart.

After playing, you’ll Soon wonder why you agreed to in the first place.

Or was that Second place?

Amazing how many words Start with S.

So, So many.

(Spellcheck Snarls at all these capital S’s.)

S is a good letter to have when playing Scrabble.

Add it to a long word and Score big.

If you know Mason, you know the S-curve.

If you live in the country, you know Snakes.

Scorpions.

And other Scutellate critters.

S.

A letter for all Seasons.

For Streets, Stock tanks, and Salsa.

For Saturday.

And Sunday.

Sitting on the porch.

Snacking.

Sleeping.

Snoring.

Smiling.

Good ol’ S.

Swings in the wind.

Saunters down the road.

Slides along.

Slips away.

Simple pleasures.

Sunny days.

Swimming.

Shopping.

Singing.

Silence.

Shhhh.

It’s September Settling in.
