The Mason Lions club met Tuesday, September 4th, for its monthly business meeting. There were 39 members and one visitor in attendance.

"Boss" Lion Pat Reardon was responsible for the program and Secretary/Treasurer Gene Gammill read the minutes and gave the financial report.

Two new members were inducted: Dave Benefield and sponsor Will Frey; John Palacio and sponsor Nolan Donop.

The Hamburger Lunch was a success and the club wants to thank everyone that helped to make it such. The Lions Club needs runners and walkers to sign up for the 5K-10K walk/run to be held on September 29. All proceeds go to local charities.

Also, the Lions Club is selling raffle tickets for a deer hunt on the LOV Ranch. All proceeds from this raffle go to offset district expenses. More on this next week.

The club’s next meeting will be held next Tuesday, September 11th, at noon at Willow Creek Cafe. The program chairman will be Fritz Landers and the program will be by a Texas Lions Camp participant.

The Mason Lion’s Club has an ongoing program to recycle used eyeglasses to people who need them. Used eyeglasses may be given to any Lion or left in collection boxes at any of the local banks. Also please contact any Mason Lion if you know of anyone in our community unable to afford appropriate eye care.
