Wednesday, September 12, 2012 • Posted September 12, 2012

The Friends of the Library are once again hosting Old Yeller Days on Saturday, October 27, 2012, from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. on the beautiful grounds of the historical courthouse in Mason. Events during the days will include a Dog Parade and Contest with prizes given in several different categories, donated by Reigning Cats & Dogs, owned by Lenore and Tommy Newsome.

Cavalry re-enactors, spinning and weaving demonstrations and many other displays will be emphasizing life in Mason County during frontier times in the 1870s which was the setting for Old Yeller. There will be a host of children activities including a art and essay contest for elementary school students, food booths, music, an author showcase and many other events.

So put the date on your calendar, gather your friends and families and come join us in some old time fun and honor our native, Fred Gipson, author of our beloved “Old Yeller.”
