Jv Punchers vs. Goldthwaite
Wednesday, September 12, 2012 • Posted September 12, 2012

The Punchers started their season with a victory over the Winters Blizzards. The last time they faced off against the Blizzards, it was a dead lock at the end with a 7-7 tie.

The Mason Punchers were sure to finish this game. Offensively we did some great things. We had several players get to step on the field and see what it was like to play Puncher football. With a team mostly made up of freshman, they were able to overcome some obstacles and pull out a win.

This past week the JV faced off with Goldthwaite. It was one of the most physical JV game we coaches have ever been a part of. As usual, the game was a nail biter with the Eagles and the Punchers just fell short.

The Punchers played well at times, but couldn’t push over the hump. The Eagles slipped away with a 16-8 victory in the final minute. It was a good loss for the Punchers, if there is such a thing.

The JV faces off with the Comfort Bobcats in Comfort following the Jr. High games starting at 5.
