The Mason Lions club met Tuesday, September 25th, for its regular weekly luncheon meeting. There were 37 members and one visitor in attendance.

Lion Michael Cope was responsible for the program and introduced Jim Heath who spoke about the Mentor Program at Mason I.S.D.

This program provides a student with an adult friend that makes the student feel safe and secure, and most of all, important. If you have about 45 minutes each week to spend talking, playing games or doing puzzles, or maybe helping a student with their school work, then the Mentor Program needs you.

Contact Lisa Heath at (325) 258-4472 (home), (325) 805-2896 (cell), or email .

The club’s next meeting will be held next Tuesday, October 2nd, at noon at Willow Creek Cafe. The program will be the monthly business meeting.

The Mason Lion’s Club has an ongoing program to recycle used eyeglasses to people who need them. Used eyeglasses may be given to any Lion or left in collection boxes at any of the local banks. Also please contact any Mason Lion if you know of anyone in our community unable to afford appropriate eye care.
