Educational Demonstrations, Musicians and Family Friendly Activities Highlight Old Yeller Days Octob

The Old Yeller Days celebration presented by the Mason County Friends of the Library on Saturday, October 27 from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. on the courthouse lawn will emphasize educational demonstrations from life in the 1870s, music from well-known artists and family-friendly activities for all age groups.

Set on the beautiful historical Mason County Courthouse lawn, the day will start out with the Old Yeller Dog Show with several different prize categories awarded and continue with re-enactors, storytellers, musicians and an author showcase. The Nature Project will have activities for the children and the winners from the Old Yeller Art and Essay Contests will be announced. Both Old Yeller Days and The Starving Artists Show will be held the same day around the square. Several of the artists will be performing at both events.

There will be food and arts and craft booths with many non-profit organizations participating. The booths are free and the deadline for the vendor applications is Monday, October 15, 2012. The applications can also be picked up at the Mason Chamber of Commerce office or Hinckley’s Country Store.
