The JV Punchers started district off with a bang. They had a dominating win over the Harper Longhorns with a score of 40-12.
Offensively, the Punchers rolled for the majority of the night. The offensive line opened up several holes for Sammy Martinez, Levi Hofmann, Garrett Bibb, Sam Dyer, and James Durst.
A punishing ground game and efficient passing was the perfect recipe for Punchers to build a 34-0 halftime lead. The second half was a back and forth struggle as all of the Punchers good game experience. The Longhorns had two scores early in the 4th quarter.
Defensively, the line backing crew had more than their fair share of contact. Seth Brewer and Darron Del Torro rounded up Longhorns all over the field. With the that kind of pressure, it allowed Levi Hofmann to come up with an interception plus return it for a Puncher touchdown.
The JV Punchers played their best game of the year. With each game, the JV Punchers plan to improve and play even better. The JV has improved to 4-2 for the year and 1-0 in district. The next game will be back at home to face off with the Ozona Lions following the JH games.
