JV Puncher End Season
Wednesday, November 7, 2012 • Posted November 7, 2012

The Mason JV Punchers put closure to their season last week versus the Harper Longhorns.

With a late cancellation from the Brackett JV, the Punchers travelled to Harper to face off with the Longhorns for the second time this year. They defeated the Longhorns 14-0 in a great season ending victory.

Offensively, the Punchers had no trouble moving the football. Sammy Martinez, Sam Dyer, Garrett Bibb, Levi Hofmann, and the entire offensive line were responsible for the 14 points scored by the offense.

Defensively, the Punchers as a whole played extremely hard. Anytime you keep an opponent from scoring, there is a great chance you’ll win the football game. That’s what was most impressive about this JV team.

Their work ethic and hunger to get better was great. They finished off their season with a 6-3 record and only losing one district game. The JV Punchers will be working out and suiting up with the varsity for the remainder of the year.

Even though the JV season is over, they now get to become a part of the varsity ride into the state playoffs. The JV has come leaps and bounds from where they were 3 months ago and now get an extra 2-6 weeks of football experience. This is very beneficial to our young guys to feel and see what it takes to make a deep run into the state playoffs.

They’ll get to experience things that not many JV guys get to experience. We appreciate all the support you’ve shown our JV Punchers and hope you continue that support as they hop on with the varsity to make another strong playoff run.
