Tabitha Zant, a Senior at Mason High School, was selected to participate in the National Rifle Association’s annual National Youth Education Summit (YES). YES is a 7-day, all expense paid educational experience in Washington, D.C. for outstanding high school students. While at the Nations capital, Tabitha learned the significance of US Constitution and the Bill of Rights while developing an understanding of government and the importance of actively participating in it.

Tabitha was one of only 40 selected from numerous qualified applications from across the country. She was required to complete an extensive application, which included submission of transcripts, an essay about the Second Amendment, a personal statement and three personal recommendations.

While in Washington, Tabitha was elected to speak and question congressmen Mike McCaul, conducted a live Sirius radio interview regarding the YES program and activities and was selected Miss NRA. Tabitha was also awarded a $2,000.00 scholarship during the banquet ceremonies.
