Light Up Our Town a Success!
Wednesday, November 28, 2012 • Posted November 28, 2012

The holiday season was officially kicked off in Mason during the Thanksgiving weekend with a number of activities, culminating in the turning on of the lights all around town.

Santa was chauffeured to the town square by our Mason Volunteer FD to get a jump on the season hearing all the Christmas wishes of the young and young at heart. Hot chocolate and cookies warmed the spectators as they enjoyed fantastic entertainment by Mason locals. Daryl and Petra Watson shared their talent and equipment with a generous pre-dusk audience. Our gifted entertainers included Daryl and Petra Watson, Staci Habecker, Kate Gillespie, Reagan Glentz, Yuna Mun, and Sara Peyton Dospapas.

James Worrell graciously emceed the Christmas festivities. Isabel Callejas illuminated the square with a flip of the switch promptly at six in the evening.

Alpha Beta Psi extends a sincere appreciation to all who helped make Light Up Our Town a success! Our City of Mason employees go to great lengths to prepare and assure the event. Please give our Heritage Park a visit and enjoy this year’s Christmas décor.

Special thanks to David and Debra Hyden, Donovan Vierious, Clyde Martin and John Palacio. Also, thank you to Dollar General and Lowe’s for donated refreshments as well as our town for coming together to begin our Christmas season.
