The Mason Lions club met Tuesday, November 20th, for its regular weekly luncheon meeting. There were 31 members in attendance.

Lion Will Frey was responsible for the program and introduced Tyler Bobinmeyer, Agri-Life Agent for Mason County who spoke about the national 4-H Livestock Judging Team and their experiences at the contest.

Chama and Sierra Martin, Gabe Jennings and Price Ruffin, along with Tyler, Gary Jennings and Troy Ruffin went to the National 4-H Judging Contest in Louisville, Kentucky. This team, along with some other members, won their first contest in May 2006 at the District Contest in Mason. Their last contest judging together awarded them Reserve Champion Honors at the National contest. They represented Mason County 4-H and Mason, Texas, well.

The club’s next meeting will be held next Tuesday, November 27th, at noon at Willow Creek Cafe. The program chairman will be Kirby Groves.

The Mason Lion’s Club has an ongoing program to recycle used eyeglasses to people who need them. Used eyeglasses may be given to any Lion or left in collection boxes at any of the local banks. Also please contact any Mason Lion if you know of anyone in our community unable to afford appropriate eye care.
