Mason 4-H Awards and Enrollment Night
Wednesday, August 20, 2008 • Posted August 20, 2008

The Mason County 4-H club met on Saturday, August 9th at the Extension office and Heritage Park. We had planned to swim at the pool, but it was closed early so we kicked off our 4-H year by playing games at the Park. 4-H members and leaders filled out their new enrollment forms for the year and we had a Leader meeting while the 4-Hers played games. We collected non-perishable food for the Mason Food Bank and planned lots of community service projects for the year. If you have an idea for a 4-H Community Service Project, please call Kristy Powell at the Extension office or email with your idea or request.

We also started planning our 4-H calendar. The evening was capped off with a pot luck picnic supper and our Awards program. 4-H members prepared short talks on all of the projects and activities they had been involved in over the past year. Awards for the projects completed were also distributed during the Awards program.

If you weren’t able to make it to the Party but would like to be in or join 4-H, please come by the Extension office from 8-12:30 M-F (or call 347-6459 first to make sure there is someone in the office in the afternoon) and fill out an enrollment form for the next 4-H year. Be sure to keep updated on our 4-H activities by reading the 4-H newsletter (which will be mailed to you if you are enrolled in 4-H). You can also read the newsletters and keep up on Extension Service activities on our website at
