The 4-H Food and Fun Day will be held at the Grace Christian School on Saturday, September 13th from 9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. If you want to be in the Food Show, or even if you just want to come and cook, we’d love to have you there. Please bring $3.00 per 4-Her to help cover food expenses.
On October 15th after school at the Extension Office we will meet to go over your interview in preparation for the Food Show. You will need to have chosen a dish and looked up some nutrition information about it before then. If you need help, please call Kristy and set up a time to work on it. The dish you prepare for the Food Show should be something that you can make with minimal adult help, pretty nutritious, and of course, taste and look good. The categories in the Food Show are Main Dish, Nutritious Snacks, Fruits & Vegetables, and Grains. The Hill Country Cattlewomen will be donating a $25.00 award for the best beef dish again this year. The age divisions are as of your age on September 1st: 8-10, 11-13, and 14-19. Clover kids 5-up are also allowed to participate at the County Food Show.
The County Food Show will be held at the Mason Library on Sunday, October 19th beginning at 4:00 p.m. We will begin with the Clover kids, and we’ll follow with the older age groups as the younger one finish. After everyone is judged, we will enjoy all of the dishes that were cooked.
