The Mason Lions Club met Tuesday, September 16th, for its regular weekly luncheon meeting. There were 48 members and 1 visitor in attendance.
Lion Brent Drennen was responsible for the program and in his absence Eldon Kothmann introduced Mark Mitchell who spoke about the Mason Mountain Wildlife Management Area. Mark told how the area came about through a gift from a private individual, how the are was setup to be self-sufficient, and how and what the area is used for. Mark talked about the goals for the are and the up coming programs to be conducted at the area. Mark had a very interesting program and it was enjoyed by all.
The club's next meeting will be held Tuesday, September 23rd, at noon at Zavala's. The program chairman will be Will Frey.
The Mason Lions Club has an ongoing program to recycle used eyeglasses to people who need them. Used eyeglasses may be given to any Lion or left in collection boxes at any of the local bank. Also, please contact any Mason Lion if you know of anyone in our community unable to afford appropriate eye care.
