Gadgets for Green: Helping Mason Schools & the Environment PTO Fundraiser
Wednesday, October 8, 2008 • Posted October 8, 2008

Ever wonder what to do with those old cell phones and gadgets you no longer use? What about used print cartridges? Shouldn’t I recycle them? Gadgets For Green is a program where you can donate these items and many other gadgets to help raise money for our schools. This program is a Win – Win situation because we are also helping the environment.

Instead of throwing out old gadgets, place them in a bag and donate them. What to donate: empty inkjet and laser cartridges (in sealed bags), old digital cameras, Game Boys & Nintendo DS, camcorders, DVD movies (in their original cases), and many more items. A complete list of acceptable gadgets is available at the Elementary School office and the Chamber of Commerce.

Collection boxes are located at all 3 Mason Banks and Northside Café. Before dropping the gadgets off, be sure to bag them and include any associated cables and accessories. The goal of this program is for the monies raised to be used to make Mason Schools more energy efficient. Additionally, we hope to raise awareness amongst the students to be conscious of their environment. For more details, call Kelly Dayton at 325-347-1913. This project is sponsored by the Mason PTO (Parent-Teacher Organization).
