KNEL Keeping Up With Band

On October 18th, 26 high school marching bands will converge on the Brady High School Stadium for the annual UIL Regional VII Band Marching Competition. The Mason High School Band will take the field at 10:45am.

Again this year, families and friends of local high school band members who may not be able to attend the competition will be able to listen to the band's performance live on the internet.

The entire Band Marching competition will be broadcast live on KNEL radio in Brady at 95.3 FM, and the broadcast will be carried live on the internet through KNEL's website at

KNEL radio has been broadcasting the live performances of bands within it's coverage area for several years. With the addition of the internet broadcast of the station's programming in 2008, KNEL has expanded coverage of the UIL Band Marching competition to include all 26 schools participating.

The Mason High School Band is one of 15 Class A school bands participating in the October 18th competition. The day's competition will also include 9 Class AA school bands, and 2 class AAA high school bands. The schedule for band competition is also available at under "Local Events."
