"Down the Drain With Jane"

In my search for “STUFF,” I often find an item that states,”Some Assembly Required!” I really have to need and want this stuff to buy it. As, you see, I don’t like to read instructions. I want what I want and I want it instantly.

When the kids were young and there was something to assemble, I would just wing it. Happy once told me, “Momma, you really need to read the Destructions first.” Oh, well we’d get it together with or without reading the Destructions!

I’m the same way about cooking. I’ll read the recipe, however, I always thought more butter and more cheese was needed. So, nothing really ever tastes the same when I cook it. This really irritates Z.

Thus, when I go shopping for something, I’ll be willing to pay extra to have it “ASSEMBLED!” I thought Z would be the kind of guy that liked to put things together! WRONG! This too, irritates Z. So, I do try not to get items that need assembling. But, sometimes it just happens that I need them assembled. The last items bought stayed in their boxes for three weeks before I made up my mind to do it myself. Then, he was telling me how to do it! He was asking me, “Have you read the INSTRUCTIONS?” And, would you believe they didn’t come with INSTRUCTIONS OR DESTRUCTIONS, either! I just looked at the picture and winged it. They’re up and standing and holding quilts.

This tells me a lot about Z! I’m glad that I was fully assembled at the time of our marriage, or he’d have not married me! However, I’m still winging it with him!

P.S. Still thinking of those faded plastic Poinsettias at the cemetery! And, I did find the fresh poinsettia that I was given last Christmas! Yep, took it to the Club House and it’s still there! I see no resurrection of the plant and maybe Z will haul it off????
