Members of the Fine Arts Association of the Hill Country traveled to San Antonio on October 8th to view “Bluebonnets and Beyond: Julian Onderdonk, An American Impressionist”. This collection of paintings will be on display at the Witte Museum until December 9th.
Before looking at the pictures, the group went to The Gallery Theater for a one act skit, “A Visit with Eleanor Onderdonk”, by Laurie Dietrich. Eleanor was the sister of Julian, and also an artist. She was the Curator of the Witte from 1927-1958. Through the skit we learned the history of the artistic Onderdonk family.
Following the museum event, the group was served a delicious lunch at Cappy’s restaurant in the museum district.
If you are not already a member of the Fine Arts Association of the Hill Country, we encourage you to join. Contact Martha Kothmann, President, via email (firstname.lastname@example.org) or phone (325 258 4624). We have educational programs, art shows, field trips, and parties that you do not want to miss!
