Members of the Ace in the Hole Band to Play at Kassie Mae Zavadil Fundraiser Opening Deer Season Wee
Wednesday, October 15, 2008 • Posted October 15, 2008

Hunters and non-hunters alike are asked to come and support the Kassie Mae Zavadil Scholarship Fundraiser event. Tickets are on sale now at M3, the Llano Chamber of Commerce, and through Mary Ann Scott and friends of Kassie for $15, or can be purchased at the door. November 1st will welcome many to this community to come out and enjoy the beautiful hill country and bountiful hunting Llano County has to offer. We couldn’t ask for a better backdrop for this worthy event, featuring members of Ace in the Hole Band as the headliner for the evening’s dance at Oestrich’s Rose (next to Inman’s Restaurant), along with guest Cody Widner. However, the event will also have local music stars such as Lainey Wright, Jay Henderson and Jerry Coke. An array of beverages will be served along with grilled burgers, sausage wraps, snow cones, potato salad, beans, bacon-wrapped jalapeno poppers, and desserts—all for a nominal fee. The indoor dance will kick off at 8:00 p.m., but the indoor silent auction and outdoor grilling will begin at 5:00 p.m.

An autographed guitar by George Strait, a football signed by Darrell Royal, plus more celebrity items will be offered at the silent auction, along with the following generously donated items:

· Manicure and Pedicure by John David’s Salon

· Haircut and Highlight by John David’s Salon

· Neuter or Spay by Cedar Creek Veterinary Clinic

· Iron Art by John & BJ Henderson

· Gift certificates from Acme, Burger Bar, and Stonewalls, Ruby Cowgirl, and many more

· Hand made mesquite furniture

· A hand made quilt

· Plus many more items being added daily

Please join us on this special evening to not only celebrate the life of Kassie Mae Zavadil, but to ensure that she is honored and remembered for years and years to come through a scholarship in her name. Remember that Kassie loved 60’s garb and especially her signature bandana. We welcome those attending to dust off their olds sixties attire and/or create new garments. The dance is country, but a “Kassie” touch will make the night that much more memorable.

The friends and family would like to give a special thank you to all of the individuals and businesses that have graciously donated their time, as well as goods to aide this event in its success. The list is long and surely not conclusive, but includes San Saba Printing for the ticket printing, Inman’s for the use of their facility, Members of the Ace Hole Band, Cody Widner, Acme for the burgers, Miiller’s Meats for the sausages, Mason Bottling Co., the Llano fire department for the tables, chairs, and tents, Ben E Keith for the flyers and food, Sonic, Super S, Dairy Queen, and HEB. The donated time of: Jimmy Scott, Zane & Angie Bauer, Dawn & Kevin Hansen, Jay & Deidre Henderson, Jerry Coke, Bill & Claudia Tuckness, Lainey Wright, and all of Kassie’s friends is also greatly appreciated. For more information or to make a donation please contact Mary Ann Scott at 325-247-2310 or 210-414-1971.
