A town in Texas.

Not far from Mason.

And one of my favorite places.

Art can also be found in Mason.

Especially this Saturday.

All around the square.

Art lookers.

Art appreciators.

Art buyers (hopefully).

Plus a couple musicians.

And three local writers selling their books.

Plus all the shops with open doors.

Open for business.

Around the square.

And off the square too.

Like The Thing Is.

And Country Collectibles.

And all the restaurants and cafés open for business.

Around the square.

And off the square too.

Like Northside Café.

The Cat’s Meow.

And Texas Deadwood BBQ.

Something for everyone.

Whether you’re artful.

Or artless.

A festive day indeed.

Thanks to Jennifer Hitzfelder.

Owner of Lilacs ‘N Calico.

She instigated the Starving Artist Show.

To be held “On the Square.”

To be held on a slow business day.

Such as the end of October.

Just to liven things up.

That was last year.

Talk about lively.

The turnout surpassed everyone’s expectations.

And this year promises to be even better.

That’s Saturday, October 25.

Around the square.

A work of art in its own right.

That’s Mason.

Renee Walker is an author, poet, and real estate broker on the square.
