Every household has one or maybe two. Some call them a “catch all” drawer, cabinet or maybe a closet. This is where everything that isn’t used everyday is put. All things from string to nails and books on how to work that “thing of a jig,” that you bought to slice and dice.
My Mother called her’s the “Fibber McGee and Molly” closet. It was true, if you opened it, everything was apt to fall out. Now, I have a drawer, however, Z has a cabinet. His cabinet was almost like Pandora’s Box, you’d best not fiddle with anything in it.
I’ve got to clean out my drawer from time to time and rid it of all the STUFF that I bought that I thought I really needed. It really makes me sad to see how much of that STUFF I trashed. The cleaning out of one's “Fibber McGee and Molly” drawer is like a soul cleaning.
Too, I hit Z’s Pandora’s Box cabinet. I could not believe what he thought was savable! Old mouse traps, nails, bolts, screws and some STUFF I’ve no idea what they were. So, if it didn’t have a purpose or it couldn’t be identified, it was trashed. I gathered all the 22 shells and put them in a container. The same was for the loose shotgun shells. Now, Pandora’s Box has room to hold more STUFF!
Z’s not noticed the clean-neat and well arranged cabinet, yet! But, I can bet, he’ll never miss the STUFF that I trashed. Too, he has new batteries in his flashlight!
P.S. It’s CHOCOLATE CANDY TIME AGAIN. Oh, boy, just what I need. But, there are some things you want, and get that you really don’t need. Also, chocolate candy will not be put in my Fibber McGee and Molly drawer!
