The Mason Lions Club met Tuesday, October 28th, for its regular weekly luncheon meeting. There were 42 members and 3 visitors in attendance. Among the visitors were 2 Mason High School Seniors, Zac Nash and Stephen Marquez.

Lion Lee Graham was responsible for the program and introduced Coach Jeff Guice, the Cowgirls Basketball Coach who spoke about the upcoming girls basketball season. Jeff said even though we moved down to 1-A, we will face a very tough group of teams in our district. Our Region is also going to be very competitive. Coach said he planned to carry 12-13 girls on the varsity squad. Jeff gave a run-down of each team in the district as well as some of the teams in the region. Coach also gave an update on the boys and girls sports being played now.

Lyle Johanson was given a pin bringing new members into the club.

The club's next meeting will be held Tuesday, November 4th, at noon at Zavala's. The program will be the monthly business meeting.

The Mason Lions Club has an ongoing program to recycle used eyeglasses to people who need them. Used eyeglasses may be given to any Lion or left in collection boxes at any of the local banks. Also, please contact any Mason Lion if you know of anyone in our community unable to afford appropriate eye care.
