Time.

It passes.

It flies.

It stops still.

Or it marches on.

Time heals all.

Give it time.

Tap your foot and keep time.

We take time to make clocks.

And watches.

And stopwatches.

So we can measure time.

Or watch the clock.

Inevitably time passes.

It doesn’t care.

Most clocks are digital these days.

Still, there is Switzerland.

And the cuckoo clock.

A timeless timepiece.

China makes clocks now.

Like nearly everything else.

Times change.

Time knows no boundaries.

Has no preference.

No prejudices.

No religion.

No culture.

No country.

No favorites.

We might kill time.

Or serve time.

Take time out.

Or take our time.

The Brits say, “Time is a gentleman.”

As time goes by, that’s probably true.

For Christmas, buy some time from Sam’s Antiques or Country Collectibles.

Or Lone Star Trading Post or Underwood Antique Mall.

Like an Art Deco wall clock.

With a pendulum.

Winds up with a key.

Made in the U.S.A.

From another, simpler time.

Uh-oh, time’s up.

Time to go.

Whew, just in the nick of time.

That’s Mason.

Renee Walker is an author, poet, and real estate broker on the square.
