Riata Celebrates the Christmas Season
Wednesday, December 17, 2008 • Posted December 17, 2008

The annual Riata Christmas party was in full swing on Tuesday, December 9th at the home of Joan Whitaker. The social committee served as hostesses for a buffet dinner with members also bringing specialty dishes. Twenty-three members enjoyed the feast.

Members also brought a Christmas ornament for the traditional Chinese gift exchange under the direction of Santa’s representative, K. Evans as the “Ho-Ho-Ho Santa” assisted by Judy Cordes as a first class Elf. There were no serious confrontations over the ornaments, but members were deligent in making their selections sometimes producing genuine laughter and rousing cheers.

Remembering others at this season was also included in the evening as members brought Christmas gifts for some of Mason’s children with the items going to Santa's Helpers at Mason National Bank.
