C. Lance Love, MD, general surgeon, will meet community citizens at an open house July 14, 2009, from 5 to 7 p.m., to mark his move into the new medical office building at 820 Reuben St., suite A, south of the Brune Professional Building.

Hill Country Memorial Health System CEO Michael Williams, DO, MBA, commended Dr. Love’s work. “We look for physicians who have great training, noteworthy references and years of favorable patient experiences,” Dr. Williams said. “Our hospital medical staff reflects this tradition of high standards. Dr. Love fits right in with an excellent team of surgeons credentialed by our hospital. We’re excited to have him, and we’re looking forward to celebrating this new facility with him.”

Dr. Love has been practicing in Fredericksburg since January. He specializes in thoracic, anti-reflux, colon, stomach and intestinal surgery, hernia repair, diagnostic and therapeutic laparoscopy, splenectomy, gallbladder removal, pancreas surgery, parathyroid and thyroid surgery, breast surgery, skin grafting and endoscopy.

A native of Texas, Dr. Love grew up in Pecos. He received a Bachelor of Arts in Biomedical Ethics from Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island in 1993. He received his doctorate in medicine from the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio in 1999. He performed his residency at Texas Tech University Health Science Center in Lubbock and has practiced at Jennie Stuart Medical Center in Hopkinsville, KY, since July 2004. He is certified by the American Board of Surgery, the Texas Medical Board and Hill Country Memorial Hospital. He has presented to numerous organizations, including the Society of Advanced Gastroendoscopic Surgery.
