The Mason Lions Club met Tuesday, July 14th, for its regular weekly luncheon meeting. There were 31 members and 4 visitors in attendance.

Lion Chuck Bearden was responsible for the program and introduced Sherry Alm, Director of Swimming Pool Affairs for the City Swimming Pool. Sherry, along with Bob and Martha Vacek, Harold Hoerster, Richelle Joy, and Sherry Jordan made up the initial "Citizens Committee" that joined together as volunteers back in March. Joe Martinez and Mayor Hinckley have assisted the committee, also. The committee has made some tremendous improvements to the pool area along with help from Alpha Beta Psi and Riata Service Organization. Future improvements are in the works for next year.

The club's meeting will be held Tuesday, July 21st, at noon at Zavala's .

The Mason Lions Club has an ongoing program to recycle used eyeglasses to people who need them. Used eyeglasses may be given to any Lion or left in collection boxes at any of the local banks. Also, please contact any Mason Lion if you know of anyone in our community unable to afford appropriate eye care.
